AWIL recently held the 2nd edition of the Graduation Film Awards which was officiated by the renowned USA Film Executive Producer, Mr. Dexter Davies.It was during these awards that the USA based Executive producer nominated one of AWIL undergraduate students to work with him as an associate Producer in his upcoming film.
Khumo Mompati George Rantuana, graduated with a B.A in Motion Picture Medium and was producer of the telenovela, Section 82 which took the Best Film (Gold). Mr Rantuana also walked away with an award of Best Producer of the Section 82.
During this event, Mr Dexter Davies offered Khumo Mompati Rantuana a role of Associate producer for his upcoming Film, The Blue Mauritius. This nomination will not only see Mompati lifting the AWIL flag high but also acquiring critical skills and connections for our country and for our creative industry. This will go a long way in promoting the creative industry in Botswana as well as establishing business prospects for our country.
